As part of the first-ever Dundee Anarchist Bookfair, we’re putting together a collaborative zine on the topic of anarchism in Dundee and beyond. We want the zine to represent the diversity and creativity of Dundee, and start discussions about building grassroots community resistance. We are feminists, anti-fascists, queers, animal rights activists, environmentalists (the list could go on…) and we know our so-called democracy will never hand us a better world. It’s up to us to find community, take care of each other and defend ourselves. Sure, a zine won’t do all of that but it’s a good place to start.

Are you

  • Involved in a local campaign that needs publicity?
  • Coming to the bookfair from further afield and have ideas to share?
  • An artist or designer wanting to lend your creativity to grassroots organising?
  • A writer with ideas to share?
  • Interested in learning about zines, anarchism or local activism?
If so, we’d love your help! We’re looking for people to submit content, as well as people to help us put it all together.

Email your submissions, questions and offers of help to dundeeanarchistbookfair@riseup.net including the word “ZINE” in the subject line. This is an open submission period. We’ll put the zine out when we have enough content.

  • Text submissions should be maximum 1,000 words or contact us before the deadline to talk through your ideas.
  • Artwork should be black and white, high contrast so it looks ok photocopied, 150dpi and A5 portrait or A4 landscape.
  • And don’t forget to tell us your name as you want it to appear in the zine.
